useful things about the books of reading list
I find a good way to read the books in the reading list, it might help us to read them, http://books.google.co.uk/, this is google books, for instance, if you want to find the second book"what is graphic design" by newark, you can search the book name and find the whole content of this book, so we can read the book on internet, it is really convenient and I find that most of books can be found in this way.

Moving on with the London project
Hi all,
As we discussed in class this week, it's time for us all to start thinking about the London project in more detail - and to make a start on getting the piece of art together and preparing the crit.
You'll remember that thereflective journal and sketchbook are important tools for collecting thoughts, feelings and ideas, and will really help you when you are thinking about what you would like to say in the crit. Next week, we'll look at some language that will be helpful in the crit.
Let's use this page of the blog to post some of our thoughts from the journal about the process of producing the piece of art. Your thoughts may help other members of the class to get ideas for their own projects - so remember to read other people's posts as well.
You're also very welcome to comment on other people's ideas - particularly if you have something to say that you feel might help them. This is also a useful space to communicate with classmates who are not in your group for the project.
So, please leave a comment here from your journal. You can either post a specific entry, or a collection of thoughts and ideas from different ideas in your journal.

Useful links (course-related)
Here is another space to post interesting links or ideas. I thought we could use this one for links to internet-based resources that might be useful for the course. For example, I’m going to post a link to the Thesaurus website that I showed you in class yesterday.
I think we all agree that this is quite an intensive course, so it will be really useful if we all help each other by sharing any useful resources that we find. So, if you see anything that you think might be useful to other people in the class, please post a link on here.
You might also want to post information about any articles, books, magazines etc. that you read, from the library or somewhere else. Like the “general links” posting, there are no rules. It’s entirely for all of you to use in any way that you think might be useful.
Unfortunately, I can’t find a way to put live links in the comments box, so you’ll have to copy and paste the links into your browser. It might be a good idea to create a folder for course-related links in your bookmarks folder. I can show you how to do this in class if you’re not sure.

Useful links (general)
Hello everyone,
I thought it might be useful to have a place on the blog to put links to useful or interesting websites that we find that could be useful to other people on the course. To make it simpler, let’s use this posting to put links to sites that are for general use or interest, and another posting for sites that are useful specifically for the course or for academic purposes.
I’m going to make a start by putting a link to the TFL (Transport for London) website. This is really useful if you want to know the best way to get from one part of London to another.
Please feel free to add comments here and include links to any websites that you would like to share with your classmates. It may be useful things like the TFL website, or just interesting or fun things such as web sites, interesting or fun You Tube clips, links to restaurants, clubs, events etc. that you enjoyed or would like to visit. You might even like to post links to your own Flickr, Myspace or Facebook pages. There are no rules and you can post links and comments to anything that you would like to share.

Looking at the London project ideas...
Hello all,
Well, I'm delighted with the initial posts on the blog. I had the computer open last night and it was really nice to see the postings coming in, and I have read all of them.
The next thing that I would like everyone to do is respond to someone else's London Project idea. Have a look through the postings from yesterday and choose a project idea that you think looks interesting, and post any thoughs that you have on it. Of course, you can say whether you like the idea or not and why. You might also like to make any helpful suggestions that you have, or point out anything that you think might be difficult with the idea.
I hope that this will be a fun thing to do, but it also has practical value. Hopefully, looking through the postings will be good practice at skim-reading and reading quickly to find something that interests you, which you can then read in more detail. Also, commenting critically (which simply means with your own ideas) is a very important skill at Master's level.
OK then, I'll leave it up to you, and hopefully you'll get to know your classmates a bit better.
Please post as comments to this posting. Also, remember to make it clear whose idea you are responding to!
